Next up to rehearse today is Anna Filipchuk from Russia. We have just watched the first run through of Unbreakable live on screen and here is our initial overview.
Rehearsal review
The set up of Russia’s staging consists of Anna, two backing singers, a keyboardist, a guitarist and a drummer. They are in a circle, but all facing the crowd. Anna is wearing a denim jumpsuit with pink embroidering. Her bandmates are in matching red jackets and blue jeans.
The performance begins with the camera circling Anna who is in front of a black backdrop. As we move into the first chorus, we see images of hot air balloons rising up the LEDs creating that uplifting feeling.
As the song progresses, Anna becomes increasingly confident in her vocals and goes for more challenging notes, hitting them successfully. For the final chorus, we see lots of different children on the LED screens singing along to Unbreakable. At the same time we see lots of audience camera shots, preparing to create a massive singalong atmosphere throughout the arena.
Overall, the performance has a young Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana vibe that is perfectly age appropriate and works very well for Russia!
