Day 3: 🇦🇿 A brand new dress for Azerbaijan’s Fidan Huseynova

ESCXTRA are live from Minsk for day 3 of rehearsals ahead of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2018!

Today’s schedule

Today, the countries rehearsing for the second time, in chronological order, are Israel, Ireland, Georgia, F.Y.R. Macedonia, France, Belarus, Azerbaijan, Australia, Armenia and Albania. Have a look at the full detailed rehearsal schedule by clicking here!

The next artist to rehearse today is Fidan Huseynova from Azerbaijan. We have just watched the latest run through of I Wanna Be Like You. Now, let’s compare the differences between the first and second rehearsals!

First rehearsal recap

Second rehearsal changes

So the biggest change here is that they’ve opted to change Fidan’s costume. Her dress is now simple, with less of the frills which make her silver leggings more prominent. It’s a good change, it makes Fidan more modern and youthful!

The choreography from the Azerbaijani seems to be a little more toned down this time round and the camera shots seem to be gentler. Fidan’s own armography, particularly when sat on the box for the first verse, seems to be simpler. Nevertheless, she’s still opted for a head microphone.

The cute little stool has now been replaced by a set of steps that match the white box, a good move there!

Online voting is now open! Votes can be cast via vote.junioreurovision.tv. Viewers from all over the world can vote for between three and five countries.

Voting closes at 3.59pm CET on Sunday 25th November, just before the beginning of the live broadcast. Then, voting will reopen during the show for fifteen minutes following the final performance so that any final votes can be cast.

Ryan Cobb

My first memory of watching the Eurovision Song Contest was back in 2001 and, over the years, my passion and enthusiasm for the contest has very much turned into an obsession. I adore music and I love geography, so this contest is a natural fit for me. If la la loving Eurovision was a crime, I'd certainly be a criminal!
