Anna Bergendahl, Margaret to return to Melodifestivalen 2019?

As we are getting closer to the reveal of the artists participating at next year’s Melodifestivalen, Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet has released more names as to who could potentially be in next year’s competition.

Anna Bergendahl

Anna Bergendahl began her career in Sweden, participating in the Swedish version of Idol where she managed to place fifth in her season. She is well known for representing Sweden in 2010, with her song “This is My Life”.

Unfortunately, she’s mainly famous for failing to qualify for the Grand Final, placing 11th in her Semi-Final. This marked the only non-qualification for Sweden.

Margaret

Margaret is well known to Eurovision fans for participating in Krajowe Eliminacje 2016 with her song “Cool Me Down“. She was hotly tipped for the win, not just in the National Final but also for Eurovision, as Poland was high in the betting odds at the time. Unfortunately, on the night of the selection, she placed second, just behind Michal Szpak with his song Color Of Your Life“.

After her participation in Krajowe Eliminacje, she has been signed to Warner Music Sweden and has participated in this year’s Melodifestivalen with “In My Cabana”. Margaret one of the rare non-Swedish artists to advance to the Melodifestivalen final in recent years.

Other Artists rumoured to participate

In addition to Anna and Margaret, Aftonbladet has also mentioned that Rebecka Carlson is also participating next year. Rebecka is well known for competing in Idol in 2016, placing second to Liamoo (who participated in 2018 with “Last Breath“).

Another artist in the pipeline is Petra Marklund, also known as “September”. She has had hits in the Billboard charts with songs such as “Satellites” and “Cry For You“.

I started watching Eurovision ever since I moved to the UK in 2006, obsessed since 2012 and haven't looked back since.
