After opening the submissions a few months ago, the Serbian broadcaster has confirmed that it has received 76 applications during this time.
What’s happening next?
Music Editors from RTS have listened to all of the 76 applications that has been received. The entries were given code names in order to ensure the anonymity of the submissions.
Once the entries are selected for ‘Pesma Evrovizije’, the identity of the musicians responsible for the entries will be revealed to the public.
Serbia at the Eurovision Song Contest
Serbia debuted as an independent nation at 2007 with “Molitva” by Marija Šerifović which won the competition. In 2008, Serbia had the honor of hosting the competition in Belgrade.
Since their debut, Serbia has participated eleven times. Out of their eleven participations, they have managed to make the final eight times.
Sanja Ilić and Balkanika represented Serbia in 2018 with the song “Nova Deca“. In Lisbon, they managed to bring Serbia back to the Grand Final (after failing to qualify in 2017). They managed to finish 19th out of the 43 countries participating in 2018.
