Tel Aviv 2019

Alex Papaconstantinou confirmed as Cypriot composer for Tel Aviv

After their first two hints, the Cypriot broadcaster has now confirmed a core member of their team: Alex Papaconstantinou, who composed this year’s ‘Fuego’ for Cyprus, has been confirmed as the composer for next year’s Cypriot entry as well!

The ‘dream team’

During the past few days, CyBC has been dropping several hints regarding their entry. Today, they revealed that Alex Papaconstantinou, the composer of ‘Fuego’, is part of the Cypriot team. In a photo posted on CyBC’s Facebook page, Alex P. can be seen along with the Cypriot Head of Delegation Evi Papamichael as well as CyBC’s General Director, Michael Maratheftis.

Speculations that Alex P would be composing the Cypriot entry started earlier on. With the two hints dropped by CyBC, it was more possible that the composer would be working with the broadcaster again.

Who is Alex Papaconstantinou?

Alex Papaconstantinou (or just Alex P) is a Greek-Swedish songwriter and music composer. He worked with multiple Eurovision singers, such as Antique, Helena Paparizou, Arash and Anna Vissi. Dimitris Ioannou

I'm Dimitris, from Cyprus. Eurovision has been a big part of my life for so long now. My first memories of the contest go back to 2005, which was a special year as Greece had won with Helena Paparizou. But 2009 was truly the first year I became a die-hard Eurofan, which is why that year holds a special place in my heart.
