Despite being amongst the rumoured artists to represent her home nation of Austria, 2018 Sanmarinese national finalist Sara de Blue has ruled out taking part of next year’s contest in Tel Aviv, however, she did confirm she has “new projects for next year”.
She announced this news on her Instagram story last night, after taking to her story earlier in the day, stating that she has exciting plans to announce for 2019, however, these plans do not include taking part in Eurovision:
Guys as many of you asked me… I won’t be at Eurovision this year… But I’ll keep on fighting. But there will be new projects next year. I’ll keep you updated.

Many Eurovision fans will know Austrian-born Sara de Blue as finishing second place in San Marino’s first ever national final 1in360 last year with her song, “Out of the Twilight”, which also went on to represent OGAE Rest of the World in the OGAE Second Chance Contest, finishing in 12th place with 85 points.
Another internal selection for Austria in 2019
For the third consecutive year, Austria will again use internal selection to select their entrant for Tel Aviv. Austria last used a national final to select their artist in 2016.
Back in August, it was rumoured that singer-songwriter Joe Traxler has been shortlisted to represent Austria in Tel Aviv, however, since then no official announcements have been made by either Joe or Austrian broadcaster ORF.
Who do you want to represent Austria in Eurovision 2019? Are you sad Sara will not take part in Eurovision next year?
