The ESCXTRA Awards 2018: Voting now open!

For the first time ever, ESCXTRA.com present to you the ESCXTRA Awards! In ten different categories, we will look for the favourite among you Eurovision fans. Voting has opened today, so make sure you check out how and when you can vote!

The categories

Voting is open in nine categories. Each of the categories has six nominees, which have been determined based on a couple of criteria. We have taken a look at views, results, but also the fan reaction during the season to determine which six acts would be the ideal nominees for each of the categories. You can find the nominees when voting for the ESCXTRA Awards, of which you can find the link at the bottom of this article.

Voting is open in the following nine categories:

  • Best AlbumWhich album released by a Eurovision related artist in the year 2018 was the best?
  • Best Eurovision VocalThe best vocal performance at the Eurovision Song Contest 2018.
  • Best CollaborationThe best collaboration single which involes a Eurovision related artist.
  • NMF’s Best Single of 2018Best single released by a Eurovision related in the past year, as covered in our weekly feature New Music Friday.
  • Best VideoThe best video accompanying a single released by a Eurovision related artist this year.
  • The Super TrooperWho has managed to march on this year? Who has managed to defy the odds and push on to live their dreams? Who is your Super Trooper of the year 2018?
  • Best National Final Song of 2018Which is the best non-winning song that took part in a national final this year?
  • Best National FinalWhich country hosted the best national final of the season?
  • Best Internally Selected SongWhich country managed to internally select the best song of the season?

Recognition Award

The tenth category is the Recognition Award. As soon as voting closes, we will reveal who has won the first ever Recognition Award for their services to the Eurovision Song Contest. We decided only artist could possibly receive this inaugural award. From 2019 onwards, the award will carry the name of its first ever winner.

Voting: How and when?

Voting for the ESCXTRA Awards is now open! It will close on 23rd December at noon CET. We will then start revealing the winners until the end of the year.

You can vote on our special awards website: https://awards.escxtra.com/. You can click through to each of the categories and leave your vote for one of the six choices up for nomination.

    How could Eesti Laul be not shortlisted for best national final?

    i was thinking the same… Eesti laul by far one of the best ones

    Vidbir should have been included in best nat. final… none of my favorites were nominated in any of these categories, who does these “nominations”? No votes from me then.
