🇷🇺 Russia and Ukraine lead YouTube after first Eurovision semi

Over 2.5 million views between the two frontrunners

Russia and Ukraine lead YouTube views of performances from the first Semi-Final with over 2.5 million between them, initial figures on Wednesday morning show.

Manizha and GO_A head and shoulders above the rest

Manizha’s live performance of “Russian Woman” has been watched by over 1.5 million people since the show, while GO_A’s “Shum” has been seen almost 1.2 million times. Malta, which briefly went second in the odds to win the whole event, but is now back to their original third place, has almost 360,000 YouTube views of Destiny’s live performance.

Ukraine being in the mix for the lead is no surprise, looking at the bookmakers. There, we can also see how GO_A are clearly on the rise, as they are now the fourth favourites to win Eurovision 2021 in Rotterdam.

Here’s how things looked in the YouTube standings as of 11am CET this morning. We have only included the qualifiers of last night’s show in this list. Interestingly, non-qualifier Croatia would have been fifth in the list. Albina and her Tick Tock are currently at around 485k in terms of views:

  1. Russia: Manizha – Russian Woman – 1.6 million
  2. Ukraine: GO_A – Shum – 1.2 million
  3. Cyprus: Elena Tsagrinou – El Diablo – 753k
  4. Azerbaijan: Efendi – Mata Hari – 611k
  5. Malta: Destiny – Je me casse – 358k
  6. Israel: Eden Alene – Set Me Free – 349k
  7. Lithuania: The Roop – Discoteque – 342k
  8. Belgium: Hooverphonic – The Wrong Place – 195k
  9. Norway: TIX – Fallen Angel – 178k
  10. Sweden: Tusse – Voices – 145k

Are the views for Ukraine and Russia a good sign of what’s to come in the televoting on Saturday for the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021? Let us know what you think!
