Did you hear? Eurovision tidbits, week 50

Somewhat delayed, but here it is; your weekly collection of "not so breaking" news from all corners of the Euroverse! Christmas and baby bumps are all around! When you (that would be me, btw) are a teacher, the weeks leading up to Christmas are pretty busy, what with grades, reports and all kinds of evaluations that need to be completed before the holiday. And especially when you (again; I) decide to take the final three days off to head to Iceland... Not an excuse, but a bit of an explanation as to why you had to wait until today for your weekly dose of tidbits from across the Euroverse. Christmas on the children's ward! Not everybody will go home for Christmas. This is true for many of the children in Astrid Lindgren Children's hospital in Solna, Sweden. Kristin Kaspersen, daughter of Lill-Babs (who represented Sweden in Eurovision Song Contest in 1961) recently organized a Christmas consert for the children. She was joined by a host of great singers, several of whom have participated in Eurovision and Melodifestivalen. Not only is he a talented singer, a disco king and an amazingly nice guy; Slavko Kalezic is now also a prima ballerina! This woman is just getting more and more impossibly beautiful with every day that passes. On top of being massively cool, an amazing singer, songwriter and performer and also intensely funny, Ida Maria is a very wise woman. Just check out some of her nuggets of wisdom below! Alexander Rybak loves working with other artists, and his next partner is none other than Estonia's super soprano Elina Nechayeva! They will perform a classical/pop concert in the Czech Republic in February, and I for one can not wait to hear the result of this partnership. She won Eurovision, has toured extensively, reached almost 30 million streams on Spotify, became the most played Eurovision winner on Youtube...I could go on and on! This week she also received the award for "Toy" being the most watched Youtube video in Israel! If that sounds like something you'd appreciate, I recommend you head to Iceland, especially in the weeks leading up to Christmas! The burger chain Hamborgarafabrikkan (The Hamburger Factory) invite various artists to come play mini lunch concerts in their restaurants, and this year they include names like Svala and Ágústa Eva (aka Silvia Night). https://www.instagram.com/p/BriTpOvl6vB/ Ágústa Eva also seems to be raising an addition to the next generation Icelandic singers. Tamara Milanova (aka Tako Gachechiladze) is sporting an absolutely gorgeous baby bump these days!
