Our #ESC250 votes – Part 6: Lisa, Nathan P & Tom O

Tom O: Now for something completely different…

Sorry, i’m not the party-going-diva-banger-loving type of Eurovision fan! My music taste can range from Country to Metal and all things between. So when it comes to Eurovision I guess I would say I’m looking for something different with top quality staging, a great performance and good vocals. I’m more ‘jury’ than ‘televote’ you could say!

#10: Maja Keuc – No One (Slovenia 2011)

It just so happened I visited the beautiful Slovenia the year before, so I was naturally drawn to their Eurovision entry in 2011. Super vocals from Maja and an edgy rock style to the song makes this one of my tops.

#9: Giorgos Alkaios & Friends – OPA (Greece 2010)

You can always rely on Greece to bring some enjoyment to Eurovision, but importantly they always do it in style. One of the most memorable Greek entries for me – the language and musical style is there and it’s suitably over the top for Eurovision. Classic.

#8: Kalomira – Secret Combination (Greece 2008)

Probably the first year I got into Eurovision properly. Greece & Cyprus have almost consistently got it right putting a female artist with a great pop song. Kalomira sells this song so well and should have easily been fighting off Ukraine’s ‘Shady Lady’ to win the 2008 contest.

Lisa Bird

My first Eurovision memory was watching 1994 as a hatchling. I've been tapping my talons to the bops and bangers from Europe and beyond ever since! I finally spread my wings to attending the contest in Lisbon 2018 and am now a regular at many events and national finals - especially my regular nest at Eesti Laul.
