ESCXTRA Awards: The winner of the Best Video Award is “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente” by Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro

Presents just keep on coming! It’s now time to reveal which video has made the biggest impression this year. Six videos from Eurovision related artists were up for nomination. And the winner is…

Multilingual impressions

In this category, six videos managed to grab a nomination. Only one of them was an official video of an actual Eurovision song – and it immediately managed to win the award: Ermal Meta & Fabrizio Moro with “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente”.

Not everything is beautiful in the world, as Ermal and Fabrizio show us in their video. Their entry for the 2018 Festival di Sanremo was about showing those who try to harm the world that the world will always keep turning. “You Haven’t Done Anything To Me”, they say.

The video is full of moments of violence, whilst the lyrics roll through on screen in several languages. The hope that speaks from the lyrics is a sheer contrast with the sights of the video. It is safe to say that the picture Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro want to paint has succeeded to translate to an international crowd.

Almost half the votes

Ermal Meta and Fabrizio Moro’s victory is the biggest victory in this year’s ESCXTRA Awards. Their video for “Non Mi Avete Fatto Niente” managed to get almost half of all the votes in this category. 48.85% is obviously a very commanding victory.

A distant second place goes to Armenia’s 2016 Eurovision entrant Iveta Mukuchyan. Her video of “Armenian Girls” scored 15.8% of the vote. Third place went to Germany’s Michael Schulte. His follow-up single after Eurovision, “Never Let You Down”, picked up 12.7% of the votes.
