Did you hear? Eurovision tidbits, week 52

What better way to start off the new (calenda) year than with a brand new collection of tidbits from all corners of the Euroverse? As we all know; a lot of things tend to happen on New Year's Eve, and this edition was no different! However; first things first! The twins are here! After months of stunning us with a flood of the most amazingly gorgeous pregnancy photos, Barei gave birth to her twin baby boys last week! During their Christmas holiday in Dubai, Eric Saade proposed to his girlfriend, influencer Nicole Falciani. According to both their Instagrams, she said "YES!" So, 2018 saw a lot of Eurovision babies enter the world. Among the happy parents we can count Charlotte Perelli, Margaret Berger, Waylon and Barei. And there is another bunch already on their way in the new year. Today we bring you "news" about three of them. France Amir and his wife Lital are expecting their first baby! It was on the red carpet of the NRJ Music Awards in November that Amir announce this to the world! It seems the baby is due sometime in April, and based on the color of the pacifier in this picture, people seem to be thinking they are expecting a boy. https://www.instagram.com/p/BsDz3FOFR1A/ Estonia Getter Jaani, who represented Estonia at the 2011 contest in Dusseldorf, is also expecting her first child. https://www.instagram.com/p/BryHNP5AyM4/ Bulgaria Two time Bulgarian participant (and everybody's favorite ;)), Poli Genova is today's third baby announcement. Eric Saade is not the only very happily just-engaged Eurovision guy. It wouldn't look out of place at Hogwarts, which is the best stamp of approval for any outfit. Actually; it's the best stamp of approval. Period. Jóhannesson (who, btw, is a hero!), awarded 14 Icelanders with the Order of the Falcon. One of these 14 is none other that our very own favorite; Páll Óskar! He was awarded the order because of his work in music (duh!) and for his never ending work for greater equality in Icelandic society (double duh!). Last night, one of the most popular parts of the show was a less than two minute long bit that shows the intense idiocy of gay men not being allowed to donate blood. And of course there are Eurovision artists involved in this song; Páll Óskar and Friðrik Ómar! Early in the fall it became clear that she and her husband, who had been together for 20 years, had decided to go their separate ways. After signing a record deal with SONY Denmark, releasing new music and performing with Stjórnin (Eurovision 1990), she also found a new love; rapper Gauti. Some people seem to be afraid of absolutely nothing. One of these people is Finland's Saara Aalto. Well, she told us on the live stream from London Eurovision Party that she's actually a bit worried about monsters under her bed...but apart from that; nothing seems to scare her. Now she's accepted a new challenge; dancing ON ICE!! As in skating! I for one wish her the very best in this new part of her life. Please; DON'T break a leg! Or anything else for that matter! She seems to be in safe hands, though, as her dancing partner, Hamish, is a giant! This is one of those occasions. This photo of Nina Badric is perhaps the closest thing to "polaroid perfection" I have ever seen. At least in the last week or so. A fair few children of the Euroverse are doing backflips from pure excitement as rumours claime he might be returning to Eurovision in Tel Aviv. In the meantime, the man himself is going on tour, mainly in Russia, but including a handful(ish) of gigs in Germany.
