In recent days, the rumour mill had been churning amongst British and international media outlets that former N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos was to be one of the contenders in next month’s Eurovision: You Decide. However, her team has now issued a denial towards the rumours.
Following a Storm with Lightning?
A number of media outlets reported the rumours of Tulisa’s participation. Around the same time, the former X Factor UK judge deleted an Instagram post of her recording inside a studio. The caption included lightning emojis, hinting at a “Lightning” song title.
With OK! magazine being one of the outlets running with the story, the online department of OK! reached out to Tulisa’s management. A representative issued OK! online with the following statement:
This is completely untrue. Tulisa is not competing in Eurovision: You Decide this year.

From N-Dubz to solo success
Tulisa rose to fame in the United Kingdom as part of hip-hop trio N-Dubz. Winning four MOBO awards in the process, the group achieved three platinum-selling albums and three top ten hits between 2008 and 2010.
Contostavlos found success in her own right as a judge on The X Factor UK in 2011, mentoring future global superstars Little Mix to victory. Capitalising on her popularity, Tulisa launched her solo career scoring a UK #1 smash with debut single Young. Then, two further top 20 singles were released ahead of her one and only solo album to date: The Female Boss.
After leaving the X Factor in 2012, Tulisa took a break from the music industry before launching a comeback in 2015. Contostavlos saw less success this time around with Living Without You missing the UK top 40. Follow-up single Sweet Like Chocolate then failed to chart.
Eurovision: You Decide in February
Eurovision: You Decide is expected to take place next month in which six acts will sing three songs between them. Two acts will sing one song, and will sing-off to make it to the second and final part of the show.
