🇳🇱 Afrojack expresses interest in Eurovision 2022

The expression of interest comes as AVROTROS open submissions for their 2022 entry

Having previously been scheduled to appear as part of an interval act during the ill-fated 2020 contest, Afrojack finally got his ESC moment during Saturday’s Grand Final. Clearly he isn’t done with the contest just yet; in a recent interview he has expressed interest in being involved in the 2022 entry.

On Saturday, the Dutch DJ performed alongside Glennis Grace and Wulf in the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam in an interval called “Music Binds Us”. During the act, they performed mega-hit “Titanium”, which he co-wrote alongside Sia Furler, David Guetta and Giorgio Tuinfort back in 2011.

It appears that the Eurovision bug has bitten the Dutch superstar DJ, who recently expressed interest in working on the Netherlands’ entry for 2022. Speaking to RTL Boulevard, he said the following:

I don’t know what will happen but it would be great to be involved in working on the Dutch entry for Eurovision in Italy.

This quote is very timely, as the Netherlands have just confirmed their 2022 participation, and opened submissions for their next internal selection. With AVROTROS looking for a ‘finished product’, let’s see if anything comes from this expression of interest…
