It’s the gift that keeps on giving: The Dutch selection committee for the Eurovision Song Contest. With a rumour mill now pointing in the direction of a specific song, Cornald Maas has now felt the need to confirm some of the news of the past few days.
The act is ready
Maas is both the commentator for AVROTROS as well as member of the selection committee. He has spoken to Shownieuws, who recently brought the news that the broadcaster had selected a dance track for Tel Aviv. In the interview there, he confirmed most of the news.
Cornald Maas spoke out on the fact that the song has indeed been chosen. He said they have now not only chosen their song, but also their act. About the entire package for Tel Aviv, he says:
It’s pretty amazing and pretty unexpected. I’m over the moon with it and think it’ll do really well.

No reveal just yet
The Eurovision guru of The Netherlands refused to comment on when the act is going to be revealed. Sources close to Songfestivalweblog.nl reported that a reveal could take place at the end of February or even early March. This is much later than in previous years, when the Dutch revealed their acts as one of the first countries.
One of the most rumoured names for the Dutch this year was Davina Michelle. The young songstress has seemingly however turned down the offer. Who knows what a good song could do to convince her, though…
