Tel Aviv 2019

Belarus calls for songs; entry to be selected on March 8th

Belarus is kicking of their 2019 season!

Belarus started their selection process today, by calling for songs. Participants can send in songs starting today via the TVR website till the end of January. The entry will then be decided on March 8th. The winner will be decided by 100% jury voting.

Who will represent Belarus in Tel Aviv?

Along with the opening of the submission window today, TVR also published the rules for their national selection:

Therefore people can apply with any nationality, but have to be over 16 years old on the day they submit their song for the Belarusian national selection. Each participant must submit one song and it is not allowed, that the song was commercially released or performed before September 1st. This includes online uploads.

When the submission window closes, the Belarusian broadcaster will hold live auditions and each entry will get judged by a focus group formed of BTRC. The ten qualifiers of the live auditions will be announced on February 4th and will take part in the national final on March 8th.

The winner will be decided by 100% jury voting. A change compared to last year is, that every judge will rate each song right after the performance on a scale from 0 to 10 points. There will be a second vote at the end, if two or more songs have the same number of points.

Last year Belarus was represented by ALEKSEEV and his entry “Forever”. He finished in 16th place in the semi-final with 65 points.

Hey, I'm Dominik from Germany. Watched my first Eurovision in 2003 and I was in love right away! Attended my first contest in 2011 and every contest since 2013. The same happened with Melodifestivalen. Started watching in 2006 and been to every final since 2017 and try to make it to at least one heat each year, too. After all, Melodifestivalen is the real deal ♥
