Ukraine: TAYANNA withdraws from Vidbir 2019

"I believe that it will be better for everyone"

TAYANNA has decided to withdraw from Ukraine’s Eurovision 2019 national selection Vidbir. She says that she believes there are artists, who weren’t selected to the semifinals, but who deserve to get the ticket to Israel more.

TAYANNA posted the statement on her Facebook page. She says that the decision was very difficult but conscious.

Sometimes the universe does not give something to someone, not because you don’t deserve it, but because you deserve something else. To confirm this, I feel that right now I have to make this choice. I’m sure there are artists who didn’t get to the list of participants, but who need a ticket to Israel more than me.

She says she will now focus on her new album and her upcoming concerts. She will be performing at the Bel Etage Music Hall on March 9th, where she will also premiere songs from her new album.

TAYANNA in Vidbir

TAYANNA has taken part in Ukraine’s national selection Vidbir twice before. In 2017 she competed with the song “I Love You” and finished second behind the winner O.Torvald.

She returned to the competition last year with “Lelya”. For the second year in a row she was the jury’s favourite, but again finished second behind MELOVIN, who went to represent Ukraine in Lisbon.
