Yesterday, the BBC announced the six acts that will be taking part in a re-formatted version of Eurovision: You Decide. We also got to hear the songs, alongside biographies for each of the artists competing for the British ticket to Tel Aviv.
At yesterday’s Eurovision: You Decide press event, ESCXTRA’s Oliver Lewis spoke to Barnsley’s Holly Tandy about her entry “Bigger than Us”. Having finished 7th in the X Factor 2017, she’s ready to launch herself into the ‘tough’ music industry. In this interview, the 17-year-old star spoke about “Bigger than Us”, Dolly Parton and entering ‘the Eurovision bubble’!
The United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Holly will be battling Michael Rice (also singing “Bigger than Us”) at the final of Eurovision: You Decide 2019, which will take place on February 8th. Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw and Mel Giedroyc will return as hosts.
In this new format, there are three songs, each sang by two acts, who will ‘battle’ head-to-head in order to advance to the final stage. In this final stage, an expert jury and televote will select the UK’s Eurovision entrant!
