Earlier this week, the BBC announced the six acts that will be taking part in a re-formatted version of Eurovision: You Decide next month. We also got to hear the songs, alongside biographies for each of the acts competing for the British ticket to Tel Aviv.
At Wednesday’s Eurovision: You Decide press event, ESCXTRA’s Oliver Lewis spoke to Jordan Clarke about his entry “Freaks”. He had previously reached the final of Britain’s Got Talent in 2013 with The Luminites. In this interview, he speaks about what is means to be a ‘freak’, BGT and his career ambitions.
The United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Jordan will be battling MAID (also singing “Freaks”) at the final of Eurovision: You Decide 2019, which will take place on February 8th. Eurovision 2015 winner Måns Zelmerlöw and Mel Giedroyc will return as hosts.
In this new format, there are three songs, each sang by two acts, who will ‘battle’ head-to-head in order to advance to the final stage. In this final stage, an expert jury and televote will select the UK’s Eurovision entrant!
