Russia’s Eurovision 2015 participant and Runner-Up, Polina Gagarina will participate in hit Chinese Reality TV show Singer.
This time last year, not many of you readers might have been aware of China’s hit singing Reality TV show Singer. But last year the show was launched into the worldwide sphere when British Pop star, Jessie J became the first non-Chinese singer to win. With breathtaking renditions of Prince and The Revolutions’ “Purple Rain“, Whitney Huston’s “I Have Nothing“, Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You” and Eurovision winner Celine Dion’s “My Heart Will Go On“. Plus her own hit’s such as “Domino“, “Bang Bang” and “Flaslight“
Not the only Eurovision name involved.
As we have previously reported, Polina will be joining Bulgaria’s 2017 entrant and fellow Runner-Up Kristian Kostov in the competition. Other competitors include:-
- Liu Huan – Singer of Beijing Olympics 2008; Former Panel Judge of “The Voice of China”
- Yang Kun – Former Panel Judge of “The Voice of China”
- Chyi Yu – Legendary Singer-Songwriter from Taiwan
- Wu Tsing-Fong – Lead Vocalist of One of The Taiwan’s Hottest Indie Bands – “Sodagreen“
In addition to these 4 names, each week the competitors will be joined by a wild-card challenger who will compete to remain in the competition alongside these original 7 acts. Each round will see three stages of the competition: Qualifying, Knockout and Challenge.
A Kristian Kostov round-up.
Kristian has been competing for three weeks. His Week 1 performance was his Eurovision entry, “Beautiful Mess”. He came in Forth-Place with 14.34%. In Week 2, he came in Fifth-Place with 10.5% of the vote performing the Adele classic “Hello”. In the most recent episode he came in Sixth-Place with 10.69%.
Polina will sing the song “The Cuckoo” which is a cover of the same song by Russian band Kino. Listen to the song below.
