Tamara Todevska reveals more details about her Eurovision 2019 participation

It’s been a few days since MRTV has revealed Tamara Todevska as their Eurovision 2019 representative, yet we have not heard much regarding her plans and how the internal selection came about.

In a televised itnerview for one of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s leading morning shows on BN N1, Dan uživo, Tamara reveals more about her future plans regarding Eurovision and her past experiences at the contest.

What we didn’t know

Prior to announcing to the public that Tamara is going to be defending the colors of the country in the world’s biggest music competition, MRTV has had an open call for songs that will last up until the 5th of February.

Despite speculations regarding the song being already selected, Tamara clarifies that she receives demo versions daily and makes the effort to go through each and every song.

Interestingly enough, when asked about when the song will be revealed, Tamara says that the personal deadline she has set for herself would be somewhere around the 15th of February.

However, MRTV would have the final say when it comes to setting the date so we cannot fully confirm when the premiere of the music video is going to take place.

Going Solo

Despite being one of the most prominent names on the Balkan music scene, this would be Tamara’s first time participating in the contest as a solo artist.

Reminiscing on all of her Eurovision experiences with great pleasure but looking forward to showcasing what she is made of as a solo act is something she is greatly looking forward to.

I needed this chance. A chance where I could show the true me and present everything I’ve learned after all these years of me being active on the music scene. Doing Eurovision again as a solo artist was one of my biggest wishes.

Runs in the family

When asked about the advice she’s gotten from her sister and FYR Macedonia’s 2014 representative, Tijana Dapcevic, Tamara revealed her sibling’s enthusiasm regarding her participation.

She is definitely gonna be there. Tijana does not care in what capacity, how or why. Even if she is my backing vocalist, assistant or just moral support throughout this whole experience.

Tamara Todevska at Eurovision

Despite not being her first shot at representing her country, it is her first attempt as a solo artist.

Being somehwat considered a Eurovision veteran, Tamara has been known to the Eurovision fans as Tose Proevski’s and Tijana’s backing vocalist in 2004 and 2014.

However, her first Eurovision experience in the spotlight is her 2008 entry “Let Me Love You” featuring Vrcak and Adrian Gadzha. Just narrowly missing out on the final despite finishing 10th overall in their semi.

Are you excited about Tamara’s comeback? What kind of a song do you expect? Do you think she’s break the non qualification streak of the small Balkan country? What do you think of her previous Eurovision entry?
