Tel Aviv 2019

Montenegro: Hear the five entries competing in Montevizija 2019!

The five entries are released a week ahead of the national final!

Back in December, RTCG revealed the five artists that will be competing in Montevizija 2019. This year’s national selection features three returnees, including one former Eurovision participant! Today, the five songs have been released on RTCG Montevizija’s official Youtube channel.

You can hear the five entries competing for the ticket to Tel Aviv below:

Few acts, but plenty of familiar faces

As previously announced, Andrea Demirović is making a comeback after representing Montenegro at Eurovision 2009 with “Just Get Out Of My Life”. Unfortunately, she did not advance from the second semi-final, after narrowly missing out in 11th place. Ten years on, will she get to the finals this time around?

Of course, Andrea isn’t the only returnee; Ivana Popović-Martinović and Nina Petković both took part in Montevizija 2018. Last year’s Montevizija was eventually won by Vanja Radovanović, who represented Montenegro in Lisbon with “Inje”. He finished 16th out of 18 acts in semi final 2, with 40 points.

Will any of these entries be able to bring Montenegro to the Eurovision final for the first time since 2017? Time will tell. On February 9th, the winner of Montevizija will be decided in a one-shot national final. Once again, it is expected that the format will consist of performances from the five acts, followed by a ‘super final’ with the top two.

Which of these entries is your favourite? Are you excited for Montevizija 2019? Let us know below! Be sure to follow @ESCXTRA on Twitter and like our Facebook page for the latest updates!

Ever since I saw Helena Paparizou's triumph at Eurovision in 2005 (at the tender age of 6), I have been crazy about Eurovision. From the regional native language bops and shrieky female-led balladry to the sophisticated avant garde pop songs and chart-friendly EDM, I love everything about this cultural phenomenon. I'm currently working as a Delivery Manager in a software development team.
