Title of Sanremo 2019 entry: “Mi Sento Bene” (I feel good)

Arisa, stage name of Rosalba Pippa, is another well-known face in Italian music and Sanremo, both as an artist and presenter. Born in Genoa in 1982 but raised in the Southern Italian region of Basilicata, Arisa made her first steps in the music world in 1998 when she participated and won a singing competition organized in her city.

After graduating from high school, she worked a series of odd jobs before the turning point in her career which occurred at the end of 2008 when she won SanremoLab which granted her participation at the 2009 edition of the show in the Proposte category. There, she sang her song “Sincerità” earning first place and quickly achieving great success, with her song remaining at the top of Italian charts for six weeks. She then released her first album, also called “Sincerità”, peaking at 5th place in the charts. She returned to Sanremo in 2010, with “Malamorenò”, finishing 9th. On February 19th she released another album published with Warner Music Italy.

In 2011, she became a judge in the Italian X Factor mentoring the Over category and also made her acting debut. In 2012, she appeared at Sanremo for the third time with “La Notte”, earning silver behind 2014 entrant Emma Marrone. Concurrently, she released her third album “Amami”. Her single reached the top of the charts and her album peaked at 5th. The same year, she also published her first book and returned as a judge at X Factor. The following year, she published her album “Niente di Peronale” and in 2014 returned to Sanremo with “Controvento”, winning the show. In line with her previous appearances, she also released her fourth album “Se Vedo te”.

In 2015 she once again returned to Sanremo, however this time as a host together with Emma Marrone, Rocio Muñez and Carlo Conti. She participated again as an artist in 2016 with “Guardando il Cielo” and she also made a comeback to the jury panel of X Factor and continued to tour around Italy. In 2017, she ended her collaboration with Warner Music Italy but she continued to remain active, performing in Japan, collaborating with other prominent Italian musicians and touring around Italy.

Title of Sanremo 2019 entry: “Per un milione” (For a million)

Boombadash are a Dancehall reggae group formed in 2002 hailing from the southern Italian region of Apulia and will make their Sanremo debut this year. It is composed of four members: Blazon (Angelo Cisternino), Biggie Bash (Angelo Rogoli), Payà (Paolo Pagano) and Mister Ketra (Paolo Clemente). They published their first album in 2008 called “Uno”, continuing their career performing around Italy and Europe. They then released their second album in 2011 named “Mad(e) in Italy”, among which the track “Murder” earned them victory in the MTV New Generation Contest. In 2012 they released another single called “Danger” and a small yet successful tour around the United States followed, with performances in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, and also participating to Hitweek Festival.

Their third album came in 2013 called “Superheroes”, containing 13 tracks. In 2014, they collaborated with successful Italian rapper Fedez in the song “M.I.A”. In June 2015 their fourth album “Radio Revolution” quickly reached the top of iTunes charts within hours of release. In 2018 they released their latest album  “Barracuda” title of their 2016 single in collaboration with Fabri Fibra and Jake La Furia.
