Ghemon, stage name of Giovanni Luca Picariello, is a rapper hailing from Avellino, in southern Italy, born in 1982. 2019 will be his first time in the Sanremo stage. He has been active in the music scene in 1996. His first steps consisted in rewriting the lyrics of famous band’s Articolo 31 tracks. In 1996 he joined the group 15 Barrato and a year later he founded the group Sangamaro, where he remained until 2005. That year, he joined the conscious rap group Soulville, band with which he published the EP “Ufficio Immigrazione”. In 2007, he published his first solo album “La rivincita dei buoni”, which earned him a prize at the meeting of independent music labels. He then founded a new band in 2008, Ghemon & the love 4tet, with which in 2009 he published “E poi, all’improvviso, impazzire”. In 2010, he continued solo and in 2012 published his third album Qualcosa è cambiato – Qualcosa cambierà vol. 2”. Throughout the years he collaborated with various singers including Neffa, Syria and Fabri Fibra. Later, he released two more albums in 2014 (Orchidee) and 2017 (Mezzanotte), one of the singles of his latest album called “Un Temporale” received gold certification.

Title of Sanremo 2019 entry: “Musica che resta” (Music that remains)
The trio “Il Volo” needs no introduction to Eurovision fans. In fact, they came third at Eurovision 2015 in Vienna, winning the televote. Formed in 2009 during their participation to the talent show Ti lascio una canzone, the trio is composed of Pietro Barone, Ignazio Boschetto and Gianluca Ginoble. Throughout their career they have enjoyed tremendous success, performing all over the wolrd, including New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, United States and Colombia to name a few. Furthermore, their albums (so far, they have published 10 of them) often reached platinum and gold certification in multiple countries. Il Volo have also shared the stage with worldwide stars, including Kyle Minogue. Besides, they have also won a variety of awards, including best group at the Billboard Latin Music Award. They won Sanremo in 2015 with their iconic entry “Grande Amore”, defeating competition of Nek and Malika Ayane. After their Eurovision success, they have continued to tour and perform for various audiences around the world.
