Russia’s broadcaster VGTRK will officially reveal their Eurovision 2019 representative on February 9th. The announcement will happen during the program Hello, Andrei!
Who will represent Russia in 2019?
A screenshot from the TV guide of Russia-1’s programme shows that the special Eurovision 2019 episode of Hello, Andrei will start at 15:30CET on Saturday, February 9th.
Among the most rumoured artists is Sergey Lazarev. Sergey represented Russia in 2016, where he finished third with “You Are the Only One”. Sergey has revealed on Instagram that he is one of the candidates to be chosen to represent the country in 2019, but states that it’s not officially confirmed, who will sing for Russia in Tel Aviv.
Russia in Eurovision 2019
In 2018, Russia failed to qualify to the final for the first time since the introduction of the semifinals. Julia Samoylova represented the country with “I Won’t Break” and finished 15th in the semifinal.
In Tel Aviv, Russia will perform in the second half of the second semifinal, on May 16th.
