Vlad Reiser – “If you have a dream, just do it. You won’t regret it”

We had the chance to have a little chat with Vlad

Before the second semi-final of Melodifestivalen goes down tomorrow evening, we had a little chat with participant Vlad Reiser, who will make his Melodifestivalen debut this year. Listen and watch the article below and find out more about him to be prepared yourself for tomorrows show.

It all stared five years ago

Vlad got the idea about doing some YouTube videos five years ago when he had a back injury. During that phase, he was watching a lot of videos on YouTube and got the idea to try it himself when he gets better. It all first started with pranks with his friends. But later the videos got bigger and the ideas more unique and different. YouTube functions also have his inspiration. He watches a lot of video and great ideas on how to make that even better and gets a twist in it.

The Melfest idea

Vlad watched Melfest for the first time last Saturday for the first semi-final of Melodifestivalen 2019. He immigrated to Sweden when he was nine. He always watched Eurovision and followed the contest, but never watched Melodifestivalen until last Saturday. He loved Melodifestivalen from the first moment he saw it. Therefore he had no concrete expectations for the competition. When he first walked into the arena he got a bit scared of how big everything is, but then reminded himself that this is all enjoying and having a great time. Thinking about the final and the friends arena he only finds one word – crazy. The size and the whole situation is hard to imagine.

His friend got the idea of taking part in Melodifestivalen and asked Vlad. The problem? They only had three days till the deadline to submit songs. After hearing the beats, Vlad wrote the song to it. He started just 24 hours before the deadline with it. After they all agreed on the song, the submitted it right in time. They also were sure that there will only be people who like it or not. Nothing between it.

When comparing the work he has to do to make a YouTube video with the process of creating a song and learn the whole dance and camera routing he said, that both things are very intense. But he also said you have more free time when creating YouTube videos.

Moreover, Vlad did a unique thing in saying that he put money on himself to win. It started as an idea just with his friends. This is the first time he ever bet and he doesn’t know if he wins, but it is important to believe in yourself.

Thank you very much for taking the time to talk to us, Vlad. We wish you all the best for the live show tomorrow.
