Next to Aminata, who represented Latvia in 2015, other former Eurovision representatives in this year’s line-up included Intars Busulis (2009) as part of the group Bujāns, Bermudu Divstūris, who previously represented Latvia as Musiqq in 2011 and Ralfs Eilands, who represented Latvia in P.E.R. back in 2013 and is now competing as part of Mēs Jūs Mīlam.

Tonight’s qualifiers were decided by the combination of the jury vote and the televote. Next Saturday the ten finalists will compete for the chance to represent Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Latvia will take part in the first semi-final of the contest on May 10th. The winner of Supernova 2022 will perform on the first half of the show.
