Tel Aviv 2019

Romania: Six more acts qualify for the final of Selecția Națională!

The line-up for next week's final is complete!

Following a week-long break after the first semi-final, a further 12 acts performed tonight in the hope of progressing to next week’s final. Five acts qualified directly to the final based on their jury scores, with an additional act qualifying from a 100% televote round. These acts will join the qualifiers from semi final 1 in Bucharest for the grand final on February 17th, where Romania’s Eurovision 2019 entry will be announced!

It’s worth noting that tonight’s show was supposed to have 13 performers, but yet another withdrawal saw one act fall before the final even began. Xandra joined MIHAI in the withdrawal club just a few days before tonight’s semi-final.

The results

Like with semi final one, the jury ranked and rated all twelve entries prior to the results. Their top five got an automatic pass to the final. It was then up to the televoters to pick one more entry from the remaining ones. See the list down below for the complete line-up, alongside their outcome.

Ever since I saw Helena Paparizou's triumph at Eurovision in 2005 (at the tender age of 6), I have been crazy about Eurovision. From the regional native language bops and shrieky female-led balladry to the sophisticated avant garde pop songs and chart-friendly EDM, I love everything about this cultural phenomenon. I'm currently working as a Delivery Manager in a software development team.
