Monika Marija is one of the big favourites to win Lithuania’s national selection Eurovizija and to represent the country in Tel Aviv. She has already qualified to the final with “Light On“, but will compete in the second semifinal with “Criminal“. Today she announced that she will only sing one song in the final.
Criminal or Light On?
Monika Marija announced this on her social media accounts, on Instagram and Facebook. She says both of the songs are very special for her, but she only wants to compete with one song in the final.
Therefore she asks her followers to not to vote for “Criminal” this Saturday, on the second semifinal of Eurovizija.
I’ll be very grateful to the jury, if you don’t give me points in this semifinal, and I ask the audience to save their money and I sincerely ask you not to vote for me and my song “Criminal” in the second semifinal. I am very happy that my work has received your attention and support, this Saturday I will sing your song “Criminal” with all my heart! And with “Light On”, we will meet in the finals!
This probably is a way for her to make sure that the votes don’t split between her two songs in the final of Eurovizija.
Lithuania in Eurovision 2019
Last weekend, the first four songs qualified to the final of Lithuania’s national selection Eurovizija. This Saturday twelve more songs compete for the last four places in the final. Lithuania will choose their Eurovision 2019 representative on February 23rd.
The winner will represent Lithuania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv. Lithuania will compete in the second semifinal of the contest, on May 16th.
