Ukraine confirmed for Junior Eurovision

Earlier today, the 12th participating country for this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest was revealed, and it’s Ukraine.
Ukraine pulled out of the adult competition this year, so there was understandably some doubt within the fan community about whether or not they would be on board for its junior counterpart, but they have now confirmed they will be participating for the tenth year in a row, and have released details about the national selection process.
NTU, the national broadcaster, has opened applications to all singers aged between 10 and 15, who have until Friday 24 July to apply. Then a semi-final will be held on Saturday 25 July in front of a jury who will select the national finalists. The exact date for the national final has not yet been announced.
Ukraine has participated at Junior Eurovision 9 times, hosted twice (2009 and 2013) and won once in 2012 when Anastasiya Petryk performed ‘Nebo.’
