Turin 2022🇲🇹 Malta

Jessika qualified to the Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022 final as a wildcard

The final line-up is now complete!

The Maltese public has voted for one act to qualify to the final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022 among the six eliminated acts. The wildcard was awarded to Jessika with the song “Kaleidoscope”.

Previously Jessika Muscat represented San Marino in 2017 with “Who We Are” together with Jenifer Brening, but failed to qualify to the final after finishing 17th in the semi-final. She also has taken part in Malta’s national selection several times.

Yesterday the first 16 finalists were announced. The final of Malta Eurovision Song Contest 2022 takes place tomorrow, on February 19th. The winner will represent Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 in Turin, Italy. Malta is set to compete in the second semi-final of the contest on May 12th. Malta will perform on the first half of the show.

It has been a bumpy ride for Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest over the past years. Last year Destiny brought the island to the final with “Je me casse” and finished seventh in the grand final. Also in 2019 the country qualified to the final when Michela represented Malta with “Chameleon“. However, the country failed to qualify in 2017 and 2018.
