Sweden: Bishara tops the audience poll ahead the fourth semifinal

Youngest on top, oldest finished last

The last semifinal of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen 2019 takes place tomorrow. Once again, the Swedish fan club Melodifestivalklubben asked the audience leaving tonight’s dress rehearsal, which of the seven acts was their favourite. The winner tonight was Bishara with almost 30 percent of the votes.

Melodifestivalen 2018 – deltävling 4 exit poll

  1. Bishara – “On My Own” – 166 votes (29.9%)
  2. John Lundvik – “Too Late for Love” – 154 votes (27.7%)
  3. Arvingarna – “I Do” – 98 votes (17.6%)
  4. Pagan Fury – “Stormbringer” – 65 votes (11.7%)
  5. Lisa Ajax – “Torn” – 56 votes (10.1%)
  6. Anton Hagman – ”Känner dig” – 9 votes (1.6%)
  7. Ann-Louise Hanson – “Kärleken finns kvar” – 7 votes (1.2%)

555 people voted in tonight’s poll with many being children and families. Melodifestivalklubben stays that Arvingarna was very popular among children.

On the first week the poll predicted correctly the two qualifiers as well as the two artists that went to the andra chansen. On the second week Malou Prytz qualified to the final but placed only fifth in the poll. Hanna Ferm & LIAMOO topped the poll with almost 40 percent of the votes and also qualified to the final.

Last week proved that the poll isn’t always the best indicator when it comes to the actual results. Dolly Style won the poll but finished fifth in the semifinal. Jon Henrik Fjällgren, who finished second behind Dolly Style qualified to the final. The other qualifier, Lina Hedlund finished only fifth in the poll.

What happens in Lidköping?

Spoiler alert!

Sarah Dawn Finer, Eric Saade and Marika Carlsson will host the show tomorrow. There won’t be any opening number but Eric Saade and Sarah Dawn Finer will perform the interval act together.

The lyrics of “Ljuset” are written by Tomas Andersson Wij and you can read them here. The song is composed by the performers Eric Saade and Sarah Dawn Finer together with Johan Röhr.

The song will be released as a single and all the revenue will go to the Radiohjälpen charity. The funds raised during the week of andra chansen and the week of the final will go to the work of fighting the famine in Yemen.
