Almost 17 years after taking to the stage for Estonia, Swedish singer Sahlene has revealed that she will return to Eurovision this year. She will be a backing vocalist for UK representative Michael Rice.
From one Swede to another
Fans may remember Sahlene as she represented Estonia back in 2002, where she finished third overall. Speaking to Estonian broadcaster ERR, she gave advice to their entrant for this year, Victor Crone, who is also based in Sweden.
What I can recommend to Victor is to be modest about the fact that you represent another, not your own country, and really try to make Estonia proud

Sahlene has a very impressive record at Eurovision, both as a soloist and a backing vocalist. She provided vocals for Charlotte Nilsson in 1999, who eventually won with “Take me to your Heaven”. Most recently, she sung with Australia’s Dami Im in 2016, as she went on to finish second.
Michael Rice will perform “Bigger Than Us” at this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in May. This comes after he won the UK’s national selection, Eurovision: You Decide, earlier this month.
