18-year-old Eliot Vassamillet competed in The Voice Belgique in 2018. At his first blind audition, Eliot impressed his coach Slimane by the power, ease and sensitivity of his performance. Later he was noticed by Pierre Dumoulin, composer and leader of the Belgian group “Roscoe”. In January he was confirmed as Belgium’s representative in Eurovision Song Contest 2019.

Pierre Dumoulin has also written Eliot’s Eurovision entry “Wake Up”. In 2017, Dumoulin composed Belgium’s entry “City Light”. He also wrote the lyrics together with performer Blanche. The song finished fourth in the final of the contest.

Eliot is also confirmed to perform at the London Eurovision Party on April 14th. In Tel Aviv, Belgium will compete in the first semifinal of the contest on May 16th. Eliot will perform in the second half of the show.

I started watching Eurovision back in 2006, when I was only 10 and couldn't stay up to see Lordi winning. I attended my first contest in 2013 in Malmö. I'm studying journalism and I love music — you will probably never see me without my headphones on.
