Måns Zelmerlöw releases new single with Dotter ‘Walk With Me’

The new single will have its live premiere during Andra Chansen

Fresh from co-hosting Eurovision: You Decide 2019 and making his music comeback, Måns Zelmerlöw has released a new single ‘Walk With Me’. Which will be performed in tomorrow’s Andra Chansen interval and features Melodifestivalen 2018 alumni Dotter.

Listen to ‘Walk With Me’

Just in time for New Music Friday, it’s a giant leap for Måns Zelmerlöw as he returns from music hiatus with the release of ‘Walk With Me’. As the lead single from the upcoming summer album, the song is a definite step forward in music style. With the angelic vocals of Dotter on hand it takes on the power of a romantic duet. However the strong bass melody and gospel undertones gives it modern grounding and sounds very chart friendly.

‘Walk With Me’ was written by Måns along with Dotter, as well as Andrew Jackson, Ashley Peter Milton, Daniel Goudie and Rachel Clare Furner. The emotional lyrics relate to the investment of a relationship and being someone’s world through the good and the bad. As Måns sings: “Don’t give up on me. I know I’ll make mistakes. Just promise that you’ll stay.” Meanwhile as the ying to his yang in the song, Dotter replies: “You’re the only one that keeps me grounded.”

FINALLY! Its been 2.5 years since I last released new music and since then I’ve been writing..and writing..and writing.. I have been longing to play it to all of you and today is the day! The release of the first single from my new album, an album which will be released this autumn. “Walk With Me” is a first taste of what the album will sound like, in my opinion the best album yet. This time focusing a lot more on lyrics, wanting the songs to matter, the melodies to have an impact, stories that everyone can relate to. I hope you all like as much as I do.

Dotter in Melodifestivalen

Real name Johanna Jansson, Dotter has been releasing music as a singer-songwriter since 2014. But it took until 2017 before she made her presence known in Sweden’s biggest music show. As a writer Dotter made the Final and finished 4th as part of Mariette’s team for ‘A Million Years’. Following this success Dotter returned last year as a singer in her own right. Although despite wowing everyone with the haunting ‘Cry’ and being seen as a frontrunner, it could only manage 6th place in the Semi-Final.

Undeterred by that knock, Dotter has returned with a bang. As a writer on Lina Hedlund’s finalist entry ‘Victorious’. Which lived up to its name by soaring direkt till finalen in the Leksand Semi-Final.

Måns Zelmerlöw in the Eurovision Song Contest

Before co-hosting the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest and becoming a household name in the UK co-hosting Eurovision: You Decide, Måns Zelmerlöw started out on the reality TV circuit. Winning the first Let’s Dance as well finishing 5th in Swedish Idol 2005. This laid the groundwork to enter Melodifestivalen and become a favourite of the Eurovision fandom.

Previous attempts to win Eurovision selection resulted in 3rd place in 2007 with ‘Cara Mia’ and 4th place in 2009 with ‘Hope and Glory’. In the following years Måns returned as a host in 2010 and a songwriter in 2013. Eventually the persistence paid off and it was the grand return in 2015 that rewarded Måns with Eurovision selection. During Melodifestivalen 2015 Måns stormed to a landslide victory with his electro banger ‘Heroes’. Which was followed up by Eurovision victory in Vienna. Thus it became Sweden’s 6th win in the contest. Just one behind the most successful nation, Ireland.

Tomorrow Måns and Dotter will give the first live performance of the new single during the interval of the Andra Chansen duels of Melodifestivalen.

My first Eurovision memory was watching 1994 as a hatchling. I've been tapping my talons to the bops and bangers from Europe and beyond ever since! I finally spread my wings to attending the contest in Lisbon 2018 and am now a regular at many events and national finals - especially my regular nest at Eesti Laul.
