The Eurovision process in San Marino is moving rapidly. After announcing the 106 Una Voce per San Marino entrants yesterday, they immediately held their first semifinal as well. Four acts qualified for the Grand Final this Saturday, with four more making it to the Second Chance show.
Alfie Arcuri and Deborah Iurato headline qualifiers
Three of the new finalists come from Italy, with a fourth one from Australia. Former Australia Decides entrant Alfie Arcuri is trying his luck in San Marino this year with his song “Collide”. He safely made it through. Just four years ago, he took part in Australia Decides and came fifth. He also co-wrote the Cypriot entry to Eurovision 2020, “Running” by Sandro.
Deborah Iurato also made it through. The 2014 winner of Italian talent show Amici di Maria de Filippi sang “Out of Space” in San Marino. Previously, she had a #1 single in Italy with “Anchi se fuori è inverno” and she managed to finish third in the 2016 Festival di Sanremo. Together with Giovanni Caccamo, she sang “Via da qui” and finished just behind Stadio and Francesca Michielin.
The other two finalists are Deshedus with “Non basterà” and E.E.F. with “Something For You”. Both artists hail from Italy.
Second chance round on Friday
This Friday, another four acts will have a chance to redeem themselves on the Una Voce per San Marino stage. The five member jury didn’t deem them good enough for a direct final ticket, but they may still make it through.
These four were Edoardo Brogi, Daudia, Camille Cabaltera and Camilla. All four acts come from Italy. Aside from Alfie Arcuri, all non-Italian acts were eliminated last night.

Tonight, San Marino will be choosing some more finalists. Headlining the show tonight will be Eiffel 65, who rose to fame in the 1990s with “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”. Also taking part are former Eurovision national final entrants Erna Hrönn (Iceland), Eliza G (Romania), Jenny May (Latvia) and Kurt Cassar (Malta).
Later this week, 2022 Albanian Eurovision entrant Ronela Hajati will try to make the final. The same goes for Lorenzo Licitra, who beat Måneskin to win X Factor a few years ago.
On Saturday, a total of 22 acts will take to the stage to fight for the right to represent San Marino. Italian veteran singer Al Bano will preside over the jury that night.
