New Music Friday this week with Mahmood, WURST, ALEKSEEV, Imri and more!

Imri – Imrico (Imri Ziv & Yinon Yahel)

As promised, here is the second of this week’s Israeli treats. In the 2017 contest Imri made us all feel alive with his ethno fused dance track ‘I Feel Alive’. Unfortunately the voters didn’t agree with us and the song could only manage 23rd place in the final. With Tel Aviv’s hosting looming on the horizon Imri has also decided to follow compatriot Hovi Star in releasing new music with ‘Imrico’.

Mixing Hebrew and Spanish with Latin guitar strings, castanets and an addictive drum beat, ‘Imrico’ is another release this week making us want to sip cocktails on the beach. ‘Imrico’ shows a fun side of Imri almost reminiscent of Spain’s own man of tropical bops, Alvaro Soler. As Imri says, “just feel the rhythm and dance here.”

My first Eurovision memory was watching 1994 as a hatchling. I've been tapping my talons to the bops and bangers from Europe and beyond ever since! I finally spread my wings to attending the contest in Lisbon 2018 and am now a regular at many events and national finals - especially my regular nest at Eesti Laul.
