Listen to the snippet below before its release in May!

Yesterday Sweden’s Eurovision 2012 winner announced a new partnership with car dealer Lexus. Together they have launched a campaign for the release of Loreen’s new single ‘Neon Lights’ in May to coincide with the new Lexus NX. This will be the first English single for Loreen since 2020.

Loreen and Lexus charge up ‘Neon Lights’

Last year, Loreen released her first Sweden language single, ‘Sötvattentårar’. Now she’s back to releasing English music and returns with her new single ‘Neon Lights’, set to be released in May. Before then, Loreen and Lexus Sverige have launched an ad campaign for the new self-charging and plug-in hybrid Lexus NX. Below is a snippet of the new single which is even more electric than the car, with its pulsing and modern twist on 80s beats.

In the clip directed by Daniel Elkis and produced by Tarot Pictures we see Loreen step through a portal into a dream world of Lexus NX’. Of course she wakes up to realise she was always in the car the and experiencing the feelings of being taken on a journey through herself as ‘Neon Lights’ plays.

To celebrate Loreen’s euphoric return to electro-pop, fans can get an exclusive early preview of ‘Neon Lights’. From March 31st and for six weeks, the song is available in full by either requesting a test drive of the Lexus NX or visiting one of Sweden’s Lexus dealerships. Which means the new track should be released during Eurovision week! The single is written by Loreen, Peter Kvint and Maria Jane Smith.

Meanwhile Eurovision fans can look forward to Loreen performing at Eurovision In Concert next weekend!

Loreen in the Eurovision Song Contest

Back in 2011, Loreen took part in Swedish selection show, Melodifestivalen for the first time with, ‘My Heart is Refusing Me‘. However she failed to qualify for the Grand Final from Andra Chansen.

One year later, Loreen returned with ‘Euphoria‘ and won the right to represent Sweden in Baku. During the contest Loreen broke the record for the most 12 points ever received by a contestant. Thus becoming the fifth winner for the Scandinavian country. After the contest the song went on to be one of the defining anthems of modern Eurovision. Outside of Sweden, ‘Euphoria’ charted at number 1 in 16 European countries – the most ever for a winning entry. As well as reaching a peak of number 3 in the UK chart. Almost a decade later, the legacy is still evident in Loreen’s 10-year reign of the annual ESC 250 countdown.

Yet five years after her win, Loreen competed in Melodifestivalen once more, with ‘Statements‘. Despite being the favourite with the betting odds and the fans, she failed to advance from Andra Chansen.
