Christer Björkman started as a show producer in 2013, when contest was held in Malmö. He returned to the core team in 2016, when the contest was in Stockholm. Then he was the producer of the contest.
He returned as the show producer in 2017, after the executive producers and the other members of the core organisation team resigned. Last year in Lisbon, he was again the contest producer.
Christer has been the producer of Sweden’s Melodifestivalen since 2002. He has said he will step down from the role in 2021.
Long before he started as the producer of Melodifestivalen, he took part in Eurovision himself. In 1992, he competed with “I morgon är en annan dag” but finished second-to-last with 9 points.
