Srbuk’s Eurovision 2019 entry “Walking Out” is out

"You're no more a king 'cuz I was your crown"

Last November, Armenia was the first country to announce their Eurovision 2019 representative. Today Srbuk’s entry “Walking Out” was revealed.

Who is Srbuk?

Srbuhi Sargsyan finished second in Armenia’s X Factor in 2010, but released her first single “Yete Karogh Es” in 2016. Two years later she took part in the Ukrainian edition of The Voice. As part of Team Potap, Srbuk went on to finish on the fourth place.

After the contest, she signed a contract with Armenian agency Factory Production and released her second single “Half a Goddess”.

In November, the broadcaster AMPTV launched a submissions process for songwriters to submit songs for Srbuk. Around 300 songs were submitted for her to perform in Tel Aviv.

Armenia in Eurovision

For the first time since 2016, Armenia chose both their artist and song internally. For the past two years the country selected their representatives through Depi Evratesil. Last year Sevak Khanagyan represented the country with “Qami”, but failed to qualify to the final after placing 15th in the semifinal.

Armenia will compete in the second semifinal of Eurovision 2019 on May 16th. Srbuk will perform on the first half of the show.

Sami Luukela

I started watching Eurovision back in 2006, when I was only 10 and couldn't stay up to see Lordi winning. I attended my first contest in 2013 in Malmö. I'm studying journalism and I love music — you will probably never see me without my headphones on.
