All 41 entries have been revealed and handed in at the Heads of Delegation meeting taking place right now in Tel Aviv, Israel, ahead of the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. As part of this meeting, the host nation draws their running order position to ensure fairness when producers create the rest of the running order. This year, the host nation Israel has been drawn 14th in the running order for the Grand Final.
Austria drew 14th in 2015
Whilst Israel has drawn itself into the middle of the show, the previous two host nations, Ukraine and Portugal, had differing fortunes. Portugal found itself in the first half of the Grand Final last year, drawing 8th. In 2017, Ukraine drew a very late position in the running order – 22nd.
In fact, when Austria hosted the contest in 2015 following Conchita’s win, they also drew 14th. On that occasion, The Makemakes finished 26th with 0 points. Israel will be hoping this isn’t an omen for Kobi Marimi!
Kan, the host broadcaster for the Eurovision Song Contest 2019, published their entry “Home” last night. Israel were the last nation to reveal their entry for this year’s competition.
How do you rate Israel’s chances from 14th in the running order? Will Kobi Marimi have more success than The Makemakes did in 2015? What do you think of the Israeli entry, “Home”? Let us know in the comments below or on social media @ESCXTRA!
