The field is complete! In just five weeks time, we will crown the new winner of the Eurovision Song Contest. In the build-up to that moment, we want to know who you, our readers, like best – and therefore, it is time for a poll!
Big Five as dominant forces
In the previous polls, the Big Five nations dominated. After two early victories for Miki and his “La Venda” for Spain, it was then time for the United Kingdom to take over. Michael Rice had his fans voting for “Bigger Than Us” in bigger numbers than for any other song.
The previous poll was also a prey for the 21 year old singer from Hartlepool. He picked up 51% of the vote, beating Portugal’s “Telemóveis” by Conan Osíris. The debutant came second with 14.5% of the vote. The podium was completed by yet another debutant: Iceland. Hatari’s “Hatrið Mun Sigra” picked up 5.5%.
But now…
The field is complete. All internal selections and national finals are done. 41 countries will be taking part in Tel Aviv, following the withdrawals of Bulgaria and Ukraine.
Will Michael Rice’s victories for the United Kingdom keep on coming in the next few polls? He sure won’t have an easy run. Over the past couple of days, big hitters have made their way to the podium. The Netherlands have made an impact with Duncan Laurence‘s “Arcade” and let’s not forget the major surprise Switzerland have pulled out of the bag. Having not qualified since 2014, Luca Hänni‘s “She Got Me” is now one of the frontrunners for victory.
Our big question now is: Who is your favourite? Who do you like best in this field? You can of course click multiple entries if you love more than one!
