Founded for Melodi Grand Prix, now on their way to Tel Aviv!

KEiiNO are a Norwegian supergroup which were founded in late 2018 specifically for Melodi Grand Prix 2019. The group consists of Sámi joiker Fred Buljo and Norwegian singers Alexandra Rotan and Tom Hugo.

Last year, Alexandra Rotan took to the stage at the London Eurovision Party 2018 to perform her duet with Stella Mwangi, who represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011, to perform their Melodi Grand Prix 2018 finalist “You Got Me”.

“Spirit in the Sky” is the first entry to feature joik at the contest since 1980, which was also sent by Norway to the Eurovision Song Contest! The song is inspired by struggles for equal rights experienced by any person – regardless of ethnicity, gender identity and sexuality.
