National finals revisited: From Jon Henrik Fjällgren to Kaia Tamm (Part 2)

Lisa: Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys – Mažulė (Lithuania)

Before Eurovizijos they performed this on X Faktorius and I knew straight away this would be my guilt free pleasure of the year. Every year there are loads of hidden gems like this in Eurovizijos. Which is why it’s one of my favourite national finals. I still can’t pronounce Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys, but that doesn’t matter when Lithuania’s answer to Goldie Looking Chain are bringing some of the choreography of the year in ‘Mažulė’. Essentially the song is dedicated to the love of a car, but it’s the humour missing in modern day Eurovision. Those trumpets and turbo-folk beats are addictive and a throwback to the Eastern European entries of the mid-00s. I was lucky enough to watch this live at the Final and if the crowd had their way, this would have been the winner.
