After the overwhelmingly positive reception of Tamara Todevska’s Eurovision entry, “Proud”, she decided to give us the names of the team that will accompany her on stage at Eurovision.
Plenty of familiar faces that have had a close involvement with the Eurovision project. The backing singers helping Tamara out on stage are to Antonia Gigovska. Aleksandra Janeva and Vasil Garvanliev.
Interestingly enough, taking care of the styling we have Aleksandar Noshpal who has previously collaborated with Tamara on plenty occasions throughout the years.
Additionally, he is also making his Eurovision comeback after 15 years of not being involved with the project.
The Backing Vocalists
Antonia Gigovska is best known to the Eurovision comunity for accompanying Eye Cue in Lisbon last year. Despite being quite young she is already a seasoned performer delivering plenty of radio hits, competing in talent shows and festivals internationally. Her most recent achievement includes getting second place in one of Romania’s most renowned festival, “The Golden Stag”.
Aleksandra Janeva is one of the biggest names on the local music scene. She tried to represent the country at the contest back in 2015 with her entry “Vo Tvojot Svet”. Despite not managing to do so, the following year she did manage to win one of the most competitive festivals in the country, Makfest, with her song “Za Sto Godini”.
Vasil Garvanliev is best known for rising to fame in the early 90’s with one of the most beloved songs among kids in those days, “Marionka“. Despite taking a small break from public appearances throughout the years, he made his comeback to the music scene with his song “Gerdan”.
As previously mentioned by Tamara during the reveal of her Eurovision entry “Proud”, she is opting for a conceptual stage show. The visual aspect of the performance will be taken care of by two female stage directors that have close ties with Sweden’s national selection, Melodifestivalen.
Interestingly enough, we do not have the exact names of the two responsible stage directors. However, what we do know is that they are already collaborating with Aleksandar Noshpal and going through each visual aspect of the performance.
This is me and thanks to you …. I’m Proud!
“Proud” is written and produced by three authors. Robert Bilbilov, Darko Dimitrov and Lazar Cvetkovski.
Robert Bilbilov is no stranger to the Macedonian public, his work has previously been featured on the Eurovision stage and yes, it was Tamara’s entry “Let Me Love You”.
Darko Dimitrov has a long list of Eurovision experiences, his latest being both Eye Cue and Serbia’s Balkanika and Sanja Ilic last year. However, his most memorable work features Elena Risteska and her Eurovision 2006 entry “Ninanajna” which gave the country its best result to date.
Last but not least, Lazar Cvetkovski, he’s best known for being directly involved in Esma and Lozano’s “Pred Da Se Razdeni” and Tijana’s “To The Sky”.
What kind of a performance are you expecting from Tamara in May? Do you like “Proud”? Where would you rank it in your Top 41?
