Shine bright like a supernova

This year’s Supernova provided one of the most eclectic and interesting selections of songs this Eurovision season. In the end, it was the intimate and tender stylings of duo Carousel who emerged triumphant following a mix of jury, online, televoting & Spotify streaming with “That Night”. The duo, formed of Sabīne Žuga and Mārcis Vasiļevskis, have been active in the local music scene since 2015. The duo will also be the headline act for Riga’s pre-party, alongside fellow Supernova finalist Edgars Kreilis. In all the hustle and bustle of pre-party season, “That Night” will provide a moment of warmth and calmness.

Latvia have been guests at the London Eurovision Party on a number of occasions as Triana Park, Justs and Aminata have all performed at the intimate West End venue of Café de Paris.

Ever since I saw Helena Paparizou's triumph at Eurovision in 2005 (at the tender age of 6), I have been crazy about Eurovision. From the regional native language bops and shrieky female-led balladry to the sophisticated avant garde pop songs and chart-friendly EDM, I love everything about this cultural phenomenon. I'm currently working as a Delivery Manager in a software development team.
