To celebrate the initial success of the music video, CyBC and Tamta have treated fans to something else to ‘Replay’. With a look behind the scenes at the Making Of video for Cyprus’ 2019 Eurovision entry.
Behind the scenes of ‘Replay’
Following its release, ‘Replay’ has already amassed over 2.5million views on YouTube and 500,000 streams on Spotify. Thus it seems the fans are taking the title literally in their love of Cyprus in 2019. So as a special treat for all those views, Tamta and CyBC have released a Making Of video. With exclusive clips and behind the scenes footage on the set.
At the end of last month Tamta filmed the music video under the guidance of director Giannis Michelopoulos. This took place in Athens over a two day filming window. Now Stamatis Spinos has re-edited the video with a new perspective on the creative process. Watch the clip below to see the special effects team and the location shoots in action away from the lens.
Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019
Following the surprise success of Cyprus and Eleni Foureira in Lisbon, now the mantle passes to Tamta Goduadze. Otherwise known as Tamta, the Georgian born singer is no stranger to Eurovision circles. With past attempts in the 2007 Greek national final with ethnic ballad, ‘With Love‘. As well as trying again in 2015, but unfortunately missing the deadline with pop banger ‘Unloved‘. More recently she has been one of the first names on both ERT and CyBC’s lists for internal selection.
‘Replay’ features the same production and writing team as ‘Unloved’. Led by Alex P who wrote last year’s runner-up Cypriot entry, ‘Fuego’. As well as past successful Eurovision entries in ‘Always’, ‘La La Love’ and ‘Yassou Maria’. On the creative team managing the stage direction is Sacha Jean-Baptiste. Who also staged ‘Fuego’ in 2018 and had another runner-up in the previous year, with Bulgaria’s 2017 entry ‘Beautiful Mess’. This year it has already been confirmed she will be the creative director for Switzerland too. Currently Sacha and Tamta are hard at work starting rehearsals for the Tel Aviv performance.
Meanwhile Tamta has also been busy making progress on rehearsing her dance routine for the postcard footage that will be presented before her performance. This year the postcards require the acts to learn choreography, while being filmed on location in Tel Aviv.
