Tamta has confirmed that she has now started rehearsals for her Eurovision performance in Athens. In addition to this more information about the creation of her performance, along who she will be accompanied by on stage has been confirmed.
More aspects of Tamta’s performance confirmed:
We have previously reported that the Jean Baptiste Group will be in charge of the creative concept for Tamta’s stage performance. Working alongside them is Chali Jennings, who has also worked with 2018 Cypriot entrant Eleni Foureira. Chali’s choreography work also include the music video for Eleni’s latest single ‘Tomame’.
In addition to the start of rehearsals in Athens, Jean Baptiste Group has also confirmed that Tamta will be accompanied by four backing dancers during her performance in Tel Aviv.
Tamta will be accompanied by Nik Alexander, Lamin Holmen, Benjamin Trosso and Kenny Lantz.
Two of Tamta’s dancers are already familiar faces with Eurovision fans. Lamin, was one of the backing singer and dancers for Robin Bengtsson in Kyiv in 2017, where Sweden placed 5th place. Whilst, Kenny was one of the in house dancers for Melodfiestivalen in 2018, where he was involved in the opening, and interval acts. He was also one of the backing dancers for ‘Patrick Swayze’ by Sigrid Bernson which made it to Andra Chansen.
Tamta at the Eurovision Song Contest
After months of speculation, Tamta was announced as the representative for Cyprus at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with ‘Replay’. Tamta’s Eurovision entry was produced once again by Greek-Swedish producer Alex P., who produced ‘Fuego’ which is Cyprus’s best placing entry to date.
In addition to this, Cyprus will be competing in the first half of the first semi-final on the 14th May. Cyprus will be competing for one of the available ten spots for the Grand Final on the 18th May.
