🇮🇹 Måneskin announce new version of “I Wanna Be Your Slave”, featuring Iggy Pop

The new version will be release this Friday

Shortly after the band were honoured by the Mayor of Rome for their ongoing success, Eurovision 2021 winners Måneskin are continuing to reach new heights. Today, they have announced that they will be releasing a new version of their hit single “I Wanna Be Your Slave”, featuring rock legend Iggy Pop.

Today, Måneskin have announced via their social media channels that they will be releasing a new version of their hit single “I Wanna Be Your Slave” this week. The re-release will be a collaboration with Iggy Pop, coined the “Godfather of Punk”, who has been honoured by the Grammys and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for his contributions to the genre.

In a feature with Rolling Stone, the band expressed that they’re looking to release their third album before the end of 2021. The timing would be ideal, as they have just broken into the top 40 of the US’ Billboard Hot 100 at no. 35 with their cover of “Beggin'”.

About Måneskin

Måneskin is a 4-piece rock band hailing from Rome, consisting of vocalist Damiano David, bassist Victoria De Angelis, guitarist Thomas Raggi, and drummer Ethan Torchio. The band met in high school and made their breakthrough after coming second in the Italian X Factor back in 2017.

Back in March, they won Festival di Sanremo with an impressive 53.5% of the vote in the superfinal, beating out still competition from two former Italian Eurovision representatives Francesca Michelin (2016) and Ermal Meta (2018).

In Rotterdam, after an exciting voting segment, Italy was announced as the winner with 524 points – their first win since Toto Cutugno in 1990. Scoring 206 points from the juries and a further 318 televoting points, Måneskin finished 25 points ahead of France’s Barbara Pravi who finished as runner-up with 499 points.
