Duncan Laurence closing in on new leader Mahmood in OGAE Poll

A lot has happened in the OGAE Poll since we last had a look at it yesterday morning. Thanks to the votes from OGAEs in Serbia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Estonia, Mahmood from Italy has once again taken the lead. The big scorer however was Duncan Laurence from The Netherlands.

A near perfect score

The four new sets of votes that have come in have helped Duncan Laurence to close in on his competitors. He manages to pick up the famous douze points from OGAEs in Serbia, Azerbaijan and Ukraine. Estonia however gave him ‘just’ ten points, meaning he gets a total of 46 points from these four votes alone.

This means The Netherlands have closed the gap to Switzerland, which was at seventeen points yesterday morning. Luca Hänni picks up thirty points from the new voters and is on 188 points. Duncan Laurence now has 187. Italy pick up 36 points and climb back into the lead. Mahmood’s song “Soldi” has 192 points.

Michael Rice off the mark

Meanwhile, the United Kingdom have scored their first points. Michael Rice entered OGAE Estonia’s top ten. His song “Bigger Than Us” picks up two points.

With a score of two, United Kingdom find themselves in 22nd place. They now have the same score as Hungary, Albania, Estonia and North Macedonia. However, Tamara Todevska scored points from two countries, OGAE Albania and OGAE Bulgaria, whereas the others have all scored with just one.

The battle to enter the top ten is a close one. There’s just a three point gap between ninth placed Iceland and eleventh placed Spain. Katerine Duska from Greece has climbed back into the top ten after picking up seven points from Estonia.
